Blank midweek will give Hatters the chance to reflect says Still

A blank midweek before Saturday’s trip to title favourites Forest Green Rovers will give the Hatters a chance to reflect on an indifferent start to their season, writes Mark Wood.

Saturday last-gasp levelled earned Luton a 1-1 draw against winless Macclesfield Town following the 2-0 midweek victory over Salisbury and the opening day 1-0 defeat at Southport.

Town now face a massively tricky run of fixtures, starting at FGR on Saturday and followed by games against dark horses Cambridge United, managed by ex-Hatters boss Richard Money, on Monday and last season’s disappointed play-off teams Kidderminster Harriers, Grimsby Town and Wrexham.

Boss John Still admitted: “If you’re saying we’ve got five tough games coming up, yes we have.

“The work we do every day is important, training’s really, really important, it’s vital that we attach ourselves to the tasks. It’s probably a good opportunity this week to sit down and just analyse some things. Sometimes you can’t always do that when your games are coming Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday. So it will give us time to draw breath.”
