Blackwell appointed Shakers boss

Former Luton Town boss Kevin Blackwell has been appointed as the new Bury manager.

Blackwell had been without a managerial position since leaving Sheffield United by mutual consent in August 2010.

The 53-year-old, who was in charge at Kenilworth Road between March 2007 and January 2008, returns to Bury, more than a decade after serving as goalkeeping coach and assistant manager under Neil Warnock.
