Banton hopes his success inspires Town’s other starlets

Hatters starlet Zane Banton is hoping his success will help to inspire his U18 team-mates after marking his first team debut, writes Mark Wood.

The 17-year-old striker has just been given his first pro deal until May 2015 and, although it will place some extra pressure on him in youth teams games, he believes it will help to spur on Town’s other talented youngsters.

He said: “I don’t think it will have a negative influence, I think it will have a positive influence.

“I suppose there’s a bit of pressure when I go back to playing youth team games, because I’m going to be seen that I have a professional contract so I need to be having a good standard every time I do play for them.”
