Apologetic Shaw accepts FA charge

Hatters striker Jon Shaw has accepted his three game suspension after being charged by the FA for misconduct this morning, writes Mike Simmonds.

The forward was pushed to the ground by Jordan Rose during the 1-0 defeat to AFC Telford last Saturday, starting a 21-man brawl between both sides.

Shaw admitted ‘excessively shrugging’ the defender beforehand though as he tweeted: “For those askin, I’ve accepted the ban.

“At the start of the melee, I excessively shrugged a defender who was fouling me. That’s no excuse.

“Excessively shrugging are my word not the F.A’s. It’s violent conduct and I was in the wrong. I’m more disappointed that I’m now out for 3 matches and can’t be a part of the team for important games.

“I apologise the fans, club and team mates. That’s the end of that, let’s look forward to the game at the weekend.”

Shaw will now miss the games against Macclesfield, Cambridge United and Alfreton Town.
