Another route for injured Spiller?

Luton Town may have to explore another avenue in a bid to cure Danny Spiller’s long-standing achilles problem, writes Mark Wood.

The 31-year-old was forced off 27 minutes into a development game against Gillingham two weeks’ ago and hasn’t trained since.

He’s yet to play a competitive fixture for the Hatters after signing from the Gills in the summer and aggravating his achilles in pre-season.

It was only the second development game of his comeback and boss Paul Buckle is planning without him for the time being.

He said: “Danny’s not been out. As a rule I’m someone that once players are injured, they’re injured and I leave the capable hands of Simon (Parsell).

“He’s tried to come back and it hasn’t quite worked out and we will look at another path now.”
