Andre is happy to pass it on at Luton
NEW signing Andre Boucaud is relishing the ‘pass and move’ football the Hatters are famous for following his £25,000 move from Blue Square Bet Premier rivals York City on transfer deadline day, writes Mark Wood.
The 27-year-old midfielder penned a one-and-a-half year deal at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday and is relishing the chance to play for the ‘biggest team in the league’.
He revealed: “I love that style of football, passing and moving.”
Despite being involved in York’s 3-0 demolition of the Hatters at Bootham Crescent in September and seeing the goalless draw against Mansfield, Boucaud still believes he has witnessed enough evidence that Town will try to play football in the right manner.
He said: “I saw them against Mansfield, but I saw they are still trying to do things the right way and pass which is pleasing.”
The former Kettering and Peterborough player can’t wait to get into the action, but he’s prepared to bide his time and shine when given the chance, saying: “If I’ve got to wait and watch the boys from the side that’s what I will do.”
The Londoner has six caps to his name so far for Trinidad & Tobago and was called up by his country for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Bermuda and Barbados last year.
He’s hoping he will be able to add to those caps during his time with Luton too.
Boucaud added: “I got called up about two or three months ago.
“It’s always good to be involved in that because it’s a good experience.
“It’s good for myself as well as Luton Town. Having a player playing international football is always good.”
