All the odds as Luton take on Grimsby

Luton Town are live on TV on Friday night when they entertain Grimsby Town who sit comfortably in fifth place in the Conference table and already assured of a play-off place, writes Charlie McCann.

At the start of the season few would have thought there would be so little to play for when they saw the timing of the fixture but at least the Hatters returned to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 win over relegation-threatened Lincoln on Tuesday night.

The result was much needed after the 5-1 mauling at the hands of Gateshead at Brunton Park at the weekend and John Still must have said a few choice words between Saturday evening and Tuesday.

The Hatters are 8/5 at betvictor.com to build on Tuesday’s home success with Grimsby 17/10 and the draw at 12/5; the Mariners are unbeaten in their last seven games since they lost the FA Trophy Final to Wrexham on penalties and have won their last three on the road at Stockport, Macclesfield and midweek at Dartford.

The reverse fixture finished in a 4-1 success for the Mariners at Blundell Park back in September; four successive League defeats and a total of five points from 21 on offer during March killed the automatic promotion chances of Grimsby although they remain 4/1 to be promoted with Mansfield 1/12, Kidderminster 11/10, Wrexham 5/2 and Newport also 4/1.

We are 13/2 at BetVictor for the game to finish 1-1 and that looks a shade too big; John Still and Hatters fans will ensure this is no end-of-season kick around and Grimsby will want to go into the play-offs with their recent unbeaten run intact.
