All the odds as Hatters travel to Wrexham

The Hatters played out a goalless draw with promotion rivals Grimsby Town in front of the BT Sport cameras on Saturday evening and will be disappointed to leave with just a share the spoils, writes Charlie McCann.

Luton dominated from the very off and despite not coming away with all three points gaffer John Still has positives to take from the game saying: “I’m really pleased with how we played.

“I think we’ve got our way of playing now, which the players have got on to.

“The only thing we’re disappointed with is that we haven’t scored the goal that wins the game. We have people that can score, I know that we do.”

Indeed he does, Adam Cunnington heads the Conference Top Goalscorer market at 6/1, with daylight to the rest and there are Luton players who could prove to be a bit of value should they find their shooting boots.

Paul Benson has yet to get his name up in lights but remains dangerous; the 16/1 won’t be around long if he were to bag a couple this week and the same with the 40/1 about Jon Shaw.

No more talk of The Mariners, it’s onwards and upwards as Luton travel to Wrexham for a Friday night kick off against The Dragons and a tough trip to The Racecourse Ground.

Wrexham have three consecutive 2-0 defeats to their name but the fixture list could have been kinder. A poor performance at home to Chester sandwiched by away visits to teams riding high in current play-off spots; Nuneaton and Lincoln.

Luton in theory should have the strength in depth and the overall might to better Wrexham however as the season has transpired, things don’t always go to plan. BetVictor struggle to separate the two teams; 17/10 Wrexham, 17/10 Luton and 23/10 the draw and despite their inconsistent start Luton are unbeaten in their last six games.

Although that sequence saw just two wins, three straight clean sheets should ensure to leave Wales with points in the bag, it’s just a matter of how many.

The Hatters should come good up front eventually and they should be able to nick all three points, based on their foundations at the back.

Luton are 8/1 to win 1-0 and 14/1 2-0, surely it is just a matter of time before things start to click? We hope so.

Be Lucky.

Charlie.
