Luton Town must travel to Welling for the first round of the FA Cup as a reward for their 1-0 win at Woking last weekend, a success that stretched their unbeaten run to nine.

That draw now means that the Hatters are unlikely to play at Kenilworth Road between Saturday, October 12, and the home Conference fixture, also with Welling, on November 23.

Hatters’ fans face a long trip to Gateshead at the weekend to meet a Heed side who themselves were unbeaten during the month of October, conceding only one goal whilst winning all four games in the Conference.

They also won 1-0 on the road against a fellow Conference side (Chester) in last weekend’s FA Cup.

Town look too short at 5/4 at BetVictor given the Heed’s recent run and the hosts look sure to have their supporters at 85/40 with the draw at 5/2.

Make no mistake this is another big test for John Still’s men and, with Cambridge travelling to Southport, and Kidderminster going to Barnet, it is a big week in the battle for promotion and the title.

The U’s are a shade of odds on at the stadium formerly known as Haig Avenue with the Sandgrounders 3s and the draw at 5/2, whilst Harriers are 7/4 at Barnet with the hosts 7/4 and the draw at 5/2.

It is unlikely that all three away sides will win, but these weekends are where the title/promotion will be won and lost.

Cambridge’s extraordinary statistic of six goals conceded in 16 games will change and Luton must pick up the pieces.

The Hatters are still 9/2 for the title and 2/1 for promotion this weekend with Cambridge still 6/5 and 4/9 respectively. A win would make that journey home from Gateshead very sweet on Saturday evening.

Be lucky,

Charlie
