All the odds as Hatters visit Nuneaton

Six second half goals were the key to a magnificent 7-0 win over Hereford at Kenilworth Road last weekend and whilst few at the club will dare mention the ‘P word’ the Hatters are now 1/16 for the ‘T word’ as they proudly sit eight points clear at the top of the Conference table, writes Charlie McCann.

Promotion or titles, however, are not won in February.

Next up for the Hatters is a trip to Liberty Way and a reunion with a Nuneaton side who were beaten 3-0 at Kenilworth Road last month but have been the league’s surprise package so far this season.

Boro currently lie fourth in the table and even they could not have dreamt at being in such a lofty position in the table at this time of the season when the first ball was kicked back in August.

Nuneaton were favourites for the drop at the start of the campaign yet as things stand are only 16/1 for promotion and 6/1 to end the campaign in the top five at BetVictor and, thus, be guaranteed a play-off spot.

Boro are unbeaten at home this year and have only conceded 16 goals in 16 home games, drawing 0-0 with Cambridge over Christmas, so we shouldn’t expect another goal feast.

Andre Gray is now 4/11 to finish the season as top goalscorer in the division after his hat-trick against the Bulls and the striker is 13/5 to score the opening goal at Nuneaton plus 4/5 to score at any time.

The recommendation is the 19/20 for there to be two or fewer goals and I also like the 23/10 for the Hatters to win to nil.

Town are the ¾ favourites to extend their lead at the top of the table with Boro 33/10 and the draw at 13/5; a point might not be the worst result for John Still’s side who begin a sequence playince the sides in second (Cambridge), third (Alfreton), fourth (Nuneaton) and fifth (Salisbury) places in the table between now and the start of the Cheltenham Festival. This race is not over yet.
