There were worries of a wobble after the Hatters lost 3-2 at home to Braintree at the weekend but Cambridge’s 2-0 defeat to Kidderminster midweek means if the U’s are to go up, they’ll have to do it via the play-offs.

BetVictor are expecting Still’s side to progress further and immediately make them 12/1 to win League Two next season, 3/1 to earn back-to-back promotions and 11/8 to achieve a top seven finish and earn a crack at the play-offs at the very least.

The lap of honour in the Conference starts with the trip to Park View Road on Saturday, the Wings with little to play for and look consigned to a mid-table finish after consecutive defeats against Hereford and Kidderminster.

Luton will fancy their chances of doing the double after a 2-1 win in the reverse fixture at Kenilworth Road in November.

BetVictor make the Hatters ¾ favourites, Welling 18/5 and the draw 11/4 – surely the only thing stopping Luton winning and winning well is any outstanding hangovers from the week of celebrations?

The boss will make sure his troops are ready for battle however and Luton are fancied to win in an efficient manner, Luton 6/4 to keep a clean sheet and 15/8 to win the game to nil with BetVictor.

The battle to be the Conference’s leading marksman intensifies with Lee Gregory pulling one clear after his strike in Halifax’s 4-0 demolition of Barnet at the weekend.

The Shaymen striker is now one clear at the top of the pile and cut to 2/7 favourite to be the Conference’s Top Goalscorer; Andre Gray eased to 5/2 with BetVictor with just two goals from the striker’s last nine games.

Compare that to Gregory who has netted eight goals in his last eight games, Halifax unbeaten in nine games and now 10/3 to be promoted after a 1-0 defeat of Grimsby midweek made it three ‘wins to nil’ on the spin.
