All the odds as Hatters host Alfreton

There have been worse weeks in the history of Luton Town FC and whilst caution was the watchword last week I think it is fair to say that the Conference title is now the Hatters’ to lose after back-to-back 5-0 successes, writes Charlie McCann.

Victory made it 24 games unbeaten, 12 home wins on the spin, 17 unanswered goals in their last three matches and John Still’s men are now the unbackable 1/50 favourites at BetVictor for the title ahead of the visit of fourth placed Alfreton who themselves haven’t lost in their last four and won at the Abbey Stadium earlier in the month.

It would be some double if Nicky Law’s side were able to add Town’s scalp to that of Cambridge although Braintree suggested earlier in the week that the U’s are not the force they were in the first half of the season.

The Hatters are 2/5 at BetVictor to pick up another three points with Alfreton 7/1 and the draw at 15/4.

John Still’s men are fast out of the traps at Kenilworth Road of late, and the 23/20 to lead half time and full time might be the answer and do note they are odds on in many places.

The Town boss will be delighted with 17 goals in his last three fixtures but he’ll be every bit as pleased with his three clean sheets and the 6/4 for Luton to win to nil is another market that is sure to have its supporters.

It was no surprise to see Still and Andre Gray pick up the manager and player of the month awards respectively for February and both are richly deserved. Gray found the back of the net seven times in four games during the month and is 13/5 to score the opening goal at the weekend with Luke Guttridge, who got a brace against Wrexham midweek, 6s and Paul Benson 8s.
