Alex eases pressure

UNDERPERFORMING midfielder Alex Lawless admitted that he has been heaping the pressure on himself to up his game, writes Mark Wood.

The all-action midfielder played a starring role in Luton’s 5-0 demolition of Kettering Town at Kenilworth Road on Monday in a showing that marked a return to form for the talented midfielder.

He said: “I feel sometimes I haven’t done as well and I’m putting pressure on myself and everyone else is putting pressure on me and I haven’t been as happy with my own game as I would have liked to be this year. Hopefully now it’s the start of a run of good games again from last year.”

Lawless netted Town’s third goal in that victory, a deft curler with the outside of his boot, and that too has also helped to dispel some of his demons.
