Charlie Gould put them ahead in the first minute and Alex Yearwood doubled the advantage inside 10 minutes.

Scott Timmins completed the first half scoring with the third on 20 minutes as Harpenden looked to put the game to bed early on.

Things went from bad to worse for the beleaguered Ampthill side after the interval as Jimmy Hill scored two in a 10-minute spell early in the second half.

Yearwood completed the rout a minute from time to compound a thoroughly miserable evening for the out-of-sorts Town side.

Ampthill need to find more urgency on their travels but are home to league leaders Crawley Green on Saturday as they look for a swift return to winning ways.
