Bedford Ladies & Girls FC U16 Jets made it two wins on the spin as they beat St Albans City North 4-2 following their 7-1 victory against Bishops Stortford in the League Cup.
Bedford got off to a solid start against St Albans on Saturday as a through-ball was slotted home by Jasmine Ajayi.
The team worked hard to defend well all match, with Stella Napoli one of the stand-out defensive midfielders supporting a strong, committed back line of Lauren Cotterell, Julia Bangala, Maddie O’Neill and Jess Burt.
As the half drew to a close St Albans were awarded a penalty for handball and took the opportunity to draw level.
In the second half, left winger Paige Abraham continued to put in some great crosses, with striker Ella Vagliviello working hard to get on the end of them.
The Jets’ next goal came from the right as Claudia Attenborough took the ball into the penalty area and dispatched a low strike into the bottom left hand corner.
St Albans continued to match Bedford but were eventually undone by a solo run from the halfway line by Khaleah Lewis-Vaike, ending in a third goal for the Jets.
St Albans pulled another goal back for 3-2, but Jazz Ajayi ensured the Jets finished strongly as she grabbed her second of the game, before Elisa Sirchia ensured the team stayed ahead with some great saves.
