The Walnut Boys currently sit second in the UCL Premier Division table, level on points with Leicester Nirvana, but have met the ground grading standard to be accepted into Division One Central.

Kempston’s management duo plus physio and fitness coach Andy Whyte, who took the reins two and a half years ago with Kempston sitting 17th, said: “We would like to thank our U21 coaching set-up, Mark, James and Martin along with all on the committee and colts set-up.

“They have trusted us and giving us the freedom regarding all football matters, supporting us in all we do while ensuring the facility meet the required Ground Grading standard.

“The biggest thank you goes to this fantastic group of players, their commitment, trust, quality and togetherness is the main reason that we have achieved what we have to date and they deserve all the recognition.”

AFC ran out 4-0 winners over Peterborough Northern star on Saturday.

Alex Stoyles put the hosts in front as he headed into the bottom corner, while Shane Bush scored a trademark goal, with his well-timed run and finish.

The constant pressure and tempo was too much for PNS, as Ashley Fuller came off the bench to power a shot into the bottom corner, while Bush made it 4-0 with another powerful header.

Kempston were also in action on Tuesday night as they produced a dominant display to see off Newport Pagnell Town 2-0 at home.

Goals from skipper Tom Guiney and Bush saw the Walnut Boys make it 25 league wins this term as keeper Martin Conway wasn’t called into action once.

Joint boss Stoyles said: “A special thank you to our Nuts on Tour supporters who once again made plenty of noise and supported the players for 90 minutes, it was much appreciated.”

Kempston now have three games left of the season, starting with a trip to 20th placed Oadby Town this weekend, before hosting Eynesbury Rovers on Tuesday.
