Field, who has scored over 100 goals in his career for Aylesbury, will bring a wealth of experience to the club as joint manager Jimmy Stoyles said: “Stacey is a proven striker at Southern League level scoring goals year on year.

“His pace, technically ability and movement will add value and complement our attacking options.

“Stacey is well known to our management team and was the clubs number one target regarding bringing in another striker to the club.”

Meanwhile defender Grant Fryer is also on board after joining from Aylesbury FC.

A joint statement from managers Stoyles and Gary Flinn said: “Grant will add value and offer something different to the squad defensively and vocally.

“He is also a good ball player with good awareness on the football pitch and enjoys defending which we demand and will join the meanest defence in the league last season.”

Meanwhile, Rovers’ title winning squad returned to Hillgrounds last week, with a number of invited trialists taking part as well.

Kempston’s pre-season matches begin on Saturday, July 16, when the Walnut Boys host Southern League Premier Division team Kettering Town.

Three days later, on Tuesday, July 19, they are back at home, with another Southern Premier Division side in Hitchin making the trip.

Kempston entertain a Luton Town XI on Saturday, July 23, while on Tuesday, July 26, they are on the road, visiting Olney Town.

Rovers pre-season programme is concluded on Friday, July 29 at home to Southern League Premier opponents Biggleswade Town.
