Dellar’s double sinks Flitwick

Oakley Sports enjoyed a 4-2 extra time win away to Spartan South Midlands League siode Caddington. All four goals were netted by Shaun Barnett, two inside the normal 90 minutes and two in extra time while a home tie in theior reward against Shefford Town & Campton.

Also into the second round are Kempston Town & Bedford College, following their penalty shoot-out win at Bedford Hatters. It was 2-2 after 90 minutes and 120 minutes during which time Scott Alleyne netted twice for the Hatters and David Kane likewise for Town. It was the visitors who prevailed 4-2 in the shoot-out thanks to successful kicks from Ricci Mandal, Daniel Church, Elliot West and Paul Obuch against home replies from Richard Cook and Ashley Deverall. Kempston’s reward is a trip to Blunham in round two.

Elsewhere, Wilshamstead with goals from Colin Marshall and Michael Taylor, were leading 2-0 at United Counties Division One side Wootton Blue Cross before the hosts fought back with an own goal on 79 minutes courtesy of James Stratcher and a strike on 89 minutes from Darak Jozwiak whick took the tie into extra time. And it was Bill Sells who hit the winner for the home side seven minutes from time.

Alas for Dunton, they failed to raise a side for their scheduled visit to Ampthill Town.

Premier Division

SHEFFORD Town & Campton are now just goal difference in arrears of league leaders Caldecote after a 24th minute goal from Adam Larsen ensured they retained their season’s unbeaten ways with a 1-0 home win over bottom of the table Renhold United.

Elsewhere Arlesey Town Reserves missed their chance to climb back on to the top of the table when beaten 6-2 at Blunham. Kier Banghard with a hat-trick, Carl Page with a brace and a strike from Deep Banghard on the home scoresheet against replies from Charlie Marshall and Tom James.

Over at Lodge Road, Sharnbrook netted their first home win of the season 3-2 over Woburn to move into the top six of the league standings.Dan Glos netting twice and Ryan Massey once against two Safari Boys penalties from Daniel McClaren.

Division One

LIDLINGTON United Sports made it four wins on the bounce to remain top of Division One with a 3-0 home win over Caldecote Reserves. Paul Nockels, Darren Sims and Ben Marwood all finding the back of the net.

For second-placed Ickwell & Old Warden things were far from easy as they retained their own 100 per cent record for the campaign with a 3-2 win at Sandy. It was Sandy who took the lead after just three minutes from Ian Hammett before Danny Fox levelled matters on the half hour mark only to see Hammett place the home side back in front eight minutes later.

However an injury to home goalkeeper Nathan Morris in the 69th minute prevented him doing better when Anup Kalyan levelled matters just 60 seconds later at which point the home custodian was replaced by Luke Morgan between the posts who in turn could do little about Andrew Vallom’s 85th minute winner to seal the points Ickwell & Old Warden’s way.

Up to third and still unbeaten are Bedford Sports Athletic. They ran out 3-1 home winners over Henlow with Andrew Latimer, Ashley Mead and James Dougan on the scoresheet against a lone reply from Andy Newton.

Now fourth are FC Meppershall who netted their third win on the bounce with a 4-1 home victory over Westoning. Kieron Langley with a brace plus Craig Damon and Sam Walters seeing their goals only replied to by Jack Willison.

At the other end of the table, Kings AFC moved themselves off of the bottom spot with a 2-1 win at AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves who now slip to the base of the league standings. Chris Greene and Josh Clements strikes only being replied to by home striker Adam Fraser.

Elsewhere Meltis Albion retained their season’s unbeaten ways on the road by sharing the spoils in a 2-2 draw at Luton Boys. Ibrahim Sal and Embra Coskungonul on the home scoresheet against Albion replies via Lewis Prince and Daniel Kerriuan.

The seventh and final game in this division between Marston Shelton Rovers and Lea Sports PSG was postponed when PSG failed to raise a side to travel.

Division Two

IT remains status quo at the head of the Division Two following wins for the leading four clubs. AFC Turvey the league leaders, making it five wins on the bounce when two goals from John Guiney plus strikes from Tim Clarke and Martin Page took them to a 4-3 home win over Queens Park Crescents.

While second place Elstow Abbey were far easier 8-1 home victors over Shefford Town & Campton Reserves. They were 5-1 ahead at half time thanks to braces of goals from Ed L’erario and Glen Tumulity plus a strike from Danny Pilgrim against a Town penalty from Gary Gibson.The second period saw substitute Dave McCarthy come off the bench to claim himself a hat-trick to take the scorline up to eight by the final whistle.

For third place Pavenham, it was a 8-0 away win romp at Great Barford. Ben Greenwood with a hat-trick, James Owen and Tom Rodger with a brace plus Tim Bowers netting the goals that did the damage.

Meanwhile Sundon Park Rangers remain 100 per cent on the road this season and in fourth spot following their 4-2 win at Stopsley Park. Eddie Lewis with a brace plus a Luke Evans penalty and a strike from Matt Conway were replied to thanks to an own goal and a strike from Jake Lepick.

Having lost their opening four games, M & DH Oakley started to redress the balance with an 8-3 home win over Co-Op Sports. Jack Goodacre netting three times, Shaun Cafferty twice along with single strikes from Kieran McMahon, Tom Beattie and Ben Meaney. The replies came from Rowan Markland, Tom Furr and Thomas Miller.

Over at Groveside, Marabese Ceramics came up with their first win of the season with a 2-1 home victory over Potton United Reserves.Gary Bottazzi and Dave Eastwood on the scoresheet against a United reply from Amit Aghera.

Also winning for the first time this season were Clifton with a 2-1 victory at Bromham United. Tony Norman and Paul Rowe on the scoresheet against a home reply via Phillip Kempsell.

Division Three

STILL top of Division Three and 100 per cent for the season are Renhold Village who romped to a 4-0 home win over the previously unbeaten Eastcotts AFC. Carl Townsend, Alex Giscombe, Dan Luke and Marko Tobdzic claiming the vital goals.

Now up to second are Stevington. They extended their unbeaten ways for the season by winning 6-1 at Flitwick Town Reserves. Tristan Clark with a hat-trick, Aaron Fletcher with a brace plus Darren King seeing their goals only replied to by Craig Phillips.

Just behind them in third spot on goal difference only are Sundon Park Rangers Colts despite them having to share the spoils in a 2-2 home draw with Riseley Sports. Tony Clark and Ashley Wadhams the Colts marksmen against replies from Tom Ellison and Will Baish.

In fourth spot now are Potton Town who missed the chance to climb up into second place when held in a goalless home draw by Wilshamstead Reserves.

However perhaps the win of the day in this division belonged to Cranfield United Reserves who won 3-1 at Goldington. James Armstrong with a penalty plus strikes from Dan Cockerton and Stuart Proffered only being replied to by Karl Anderson.

Also winning on the road were Royal Oak Kempston, who beat Dunton Reserves 5-2. Lorenzo Jordan bagged a hat-trick plus strikes from Andy Cunningham and Liam Boland only being replied to by a home brace from Nicky Threadgold.

Elsewhere Westoning Reserves claimed their first win of the season with a 3-1 home victory over Kempston Hammers Sports. Gareth White netted a hat-trick to do the damage against a Hammers reply from Jason Bedall.

Division Four

MARSH Leys lead at the head of Division Four is down to goal difference after they were held to a 3-3 home draw by Stewartby Village. Shaun Gilbert with a brace plus Alex Clipson on the mark for the home side against Village replies via a Ryan Collis penalty and strikes from Ben Sparks and Michael Darnell.

Just that goal difference behind are Bedford Park Rangers following their 5-1 away win at Bedford Pathers. Shaun Finlay with a brace plus goals from Mark Reynolds, Matthew Westwood and Stephen Walsh only being replied to by Rory Cochrane.

Now up into third are Clifton Reserves who retained their season’s unbeaten ways with a 3-0 home win over Wootton Village. Mason Bambridge, Christian Ackers and Harry Green grabbed the goals.

For fourth placed Thurleigh it was a 6-2 away win at Shefford Town & Campton ‘A’. Liam Bolton with a hat-trick, Salvatore Ventriglia with a brace plus a goal from Ben Stock only being replied to by home goals from Scott Dora and Ryan Cooper.

The biggest winners of the day were now fifth place Caldecote ‘A’. They were 10-3 home victors over Kempston Athletic. Garry Allum was on target five times, Dan Fennell and Ryan Ambrose netting twice alongside a strike from Jordan Goodman against Athletic replies from Gary Whitbread, James Maxwell and Dee Sayid.

Also winning big were Goldington Hammers, 8-1 home winners over Dunton ‘A’. Jason Nice with five goals to go alongside single strikes from Jimmy Jacob, Joe Hubbard and Steve Palmer against a lone Dave Gibbs reply.

Elsewhere Sandy Reserves claimed their first win of the season with a 4-0 victory at Ickwell & Old Warden Reserves. Brad Dennis, Chris Gregory, Ryan Gregory and Reece Stratton all finding the back of the net.
