Ampthill Town ended a four-year wait as they won the Beds Senior Trophy by beating Kempston Town and Bedford College 4-1 on Wednesday evening.
Town beat Crawley Green four years ago to lift the cup, and they were too good for their Bedford League opponents this week as they established a three-goal lead by the break.
Efforts from Danny Butler and Dean Dummett inside 20 minutes put Ampthill in the box seat and another from Butler put Ampthill three ahead at the interval.
Town began the second half slowly and were pegged back when Ben Luke reduced the arrears for Kempston.
But after some close shaves for the Kempston goal, Dean Dummett added the fourth in stoppage time when he finished off good work by Charlie Cullen.
It was a great performance from Ampthill, who always had the upper hand after their first half strikes, in front of a well filled Barton Rovers ground.
