They ran out 5-1 winners at the Eyrie to make it a season double against the Eagles.

The Waders were favourites going into the game, and atlhough derbies can sometimes throw up bizarre results that wasn’t looking likely from as early as the first minute.

Biggleswade were ahead inside just 30 seconds when Sam Reed hit the back of the net.

Bedford pushed up for an equaliser but they soon found themselves two behind when Max York got on the end of a Lee Allinson free kick to convert.

However the Waders were pegged back when the home side were awarded a penalty for handball and Yamfam slotted past former Eagles keeper Ian Brown to make it 2-1.

York then leapt to head home a third from Craig Daniel’s cross.

And when Sam Reed smashed in a fourth shortly before the interval the points were effectively in Biggleswade’s bag.

Into the second half the Eagles did come back into the game and struck the crossbar with a free kick.

But Biggleswade wrapped things up late on when Mason converted a cross to make it 5-1.
