Blues leap-frog into Premiership lead

New Premier Division leaders are Arlesey Town Reserves following their 1-0 victory away to previous table-toppers Ickwell & Old Warden thanks to the Blues’ Tyler Prince netting the only goal eight minutes into the match.

And now third on goal difference are Caldecote, their 4-1 home victory over Bedford Hatters lifting them from fifth place to send the Hatters plummeting from second to seventh. Barry Dellar put Cally ahead in the eighth minute while Mark Reed levelled for Bedford on the half-hour. Then slightly against the run of play it was Dellar who restored the lead for the hosts on 63 minutes after which a brace from Jack Boyd in the 70th and 88th minutes sealed the points.

Goal difference is also separates Caldecote from fourth placed Marston Shelton Rovers who claimed their third win on the bounce with a 2-0 home victory over Blunham thanks to a brace of goals from Aaron Franks.

Fifth are Lidlington United Sports who were 3-1 home victors over yet to win and now second from bottom Bedford Sports Athletic. Scott Kent, Darren Sims and Nicky Barton bagged their goals with the reply from Aaron Edwards.

Making up the top six having played one game fewer is Renhold United. They beate Flitwick Town 6-1 with goals from Tommy Foyle (a hat-trick) plus strikes from Dean Warren, Ollie Housden and Scott Alleyne, the lone Town reply from Richie Bevan.

Bottom of the table AFC Biggleswade were beaten 6-1 at previous bottom club Wilshamstead. Kevin Butler bagged a hat-trick, Paul Jones a brace plus a goal from Chris Falconer for their first points of the season, the lone Waders reply from Naron Cheema.

Also collecting their first win in style were AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College. They were 3-0 home winners over previous 100 per cent Oakley Sports M&DH thanks to Joe Willie, Matthew Cheveralls and Lyndon Ingerson.

Shefford Town & Campton ran out 4-1 winners at Sharnbrook with Andrew Hayday bagging a brace plus strikes from Adam Larsen and Mark Ansell Carter, the reply by Paolo Fregapane.

Division One

Leighton United remain three points clear in Division One but survived a scare against Shefford Town & Campton Reserves. With 35 minutes played the home side netted goals from Ryan Dobson (two) and Scott Frusciante to put Shefford for 3-0 up. However four goals from Kevin Hilton and a fifth from Paul Darton Leighton win 5-3 which they didn’t lead until six minutes from time.

United are being chased by Pavenham and Caldecote Reserves who both retained their season’s 100 per cent record with their third victories on the bounce.

Second are Pavenham who were 3-1 home winners over Sandy with goals from Tim Bowers, Daniel Doyle and Michael Bates, the reply from Ryan Gregory. As for Caldecote Reserves, they won 6-2 at Kings AFC thanks to doubles from Matt Basta and Dan Fennell alongside singles for George Melrose and Jordan Goodman with Niko Stanchev and Ryan Smith scoring for Kings.

Defeat for Sandy saw them slip to fifth afters Shillington were 2-0 home winners over bottom of the table AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves, Jim Gentry and Alex Toye netting the goals.

Life on the road was good for Lea Sports PSG who picked up their first win, with a 5-0 victory at Luton Boys thanks to Ian Hyde (two), Hayden Fletcher, Dean Barnes and Danny Hardacre.

Yet it was home sweet home for Brickhill Tigers following their 5-3 win over Elstow Abbey as Joe Price bagged a hat-trick plus strikes from Danny Wing and Padraic Walsh the Abbey replies from Tom Pitts, Jason Harrison and Andy Smith for The Abbey.

Division Two

The day commenced with Goldington sitting a point clear at the head of the league table but ended with them down in fourth spot after being held to a 2-2 home draw by Queens Park Crescents, Chris Huckle’s two 25 yard goals cancelled out by strikes from Zain Riast and Anis Ali.

The leadership of the league table is now in the hands of Woburn Athletic who netted a 2-1 home win over Potton United Reserves, Martin Holland and Daniel McClaren seeing their goals only replied to by United’s Dan Burgain.

Now in second spot are Marabese Ceramics following their 5-1 home win over Stopsley Park, Rhys Tudball with a hat-trick plus goals from Kevin Fehmi and Aaron Jordan only being replied to by Park’s Shane Roberts. Also jumping above the morning leaders are Sundon Park Rangers, for them it was a 2-1 away win at St Josephs Reserves thanks to a brace of goals from Edward Lewis against a late penalty reply from Daniel McLeod.

The biggest winners on the road and now sitting fifth in the league table are Eastcotts AFC who ran out 4-1 victors at Meltis Albion. Michael Sexton, Jimmy Jacob, Darren Masson and Bradley Temperly goals only being replied to once via Darren Ashpole.

There was a first win of the season for Cranfield United Reserves who emerged 3-2 winners at Oakley Sports M&DH Reserves, Dan Cockerton netting twice and Pete Kerr once against home replies from Daniel Lupton and Alex Liburd.

Whilst Bromham United and Westoning shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw, Sean Bolton and Dave Baxter on United’s scoresheet against replies from George Hyde and Alex Bennett.

Division Three

Clifton’s lead and their season’s 100 per cent ways disappeared after they were beaten 2-0 at Dunton, Tim Jarman and Ben Cutmore netting the home goals to do the damage.

The new league leaders are Marsh Leys, they made it four wins from four outings with a 3-1 home victory over Ickwell & Old Warden Reserves.Keiron Jackson with a brace plus a goal from Lewis Osborne only being replied to once by Jesse Moyo.

There is no change to third and fourth spots after Westoning Reserves held onto third spot and their season’s unbeaten ways in a 2-2 home draw with also still unbeaten fourth placers Wilshamstead Reserves. Joe Rogers and Gareth White on the home scoresheet against replies via Jay Hall and JM ‘John’ Steele.

The accolade of best away win of the day goes to Potton Town who with two goals from Tom Pyman and a strike from Gavin Fergusson were 3-0 winners at Stevington to beat off the claim of Renhold United Reserves who won 2-0 at Royal Oak Kempston.

Elsewhere, Great Barford’s winning ways continued with a 4-2 home win over Bedford Park Rangers, an own goal plus strikes from Docid Mulvhill, Mark Harlow and Owen Layton only being replied to by another own goal and a strike from Laurence James for The Rangers.

Riseley Sports claimed their first win of the season via a 3-0 home success over Kempston Hammers Sports, Gareth Shrimpton with a brace plus Nial O’Conner on the scoresheet.

Division Four

It as you were at the head of the Division Four following wins for the top two sides, league leaders Elstow Abbey Reserves making it four wins from four outings with a 4-2 home win over Kempston Con Club Sports thanks to a hat-trick from Kaylen Wilson and a goal from Lewis Aitken against a brace in reply from Kyle Smith.

Whilst second place Bedford Panthers made it three wins from three outings in a 5-1 home victory over Dunton Reserves, Valiant Mudokwani netting three times alongside single goals for Gary Philipson and Michael Bailey against a lone reply from Alex Wilshere.

Now in third spot jumping above The Con Club are Flitwick Town Reserves, for them it was a 5-1 home win over Caldecote A. Gary Stringer leading the way with a hat-trick and supported by goals from Ravi Jessani and Craig Phillips against a lone Stephen Capon reply.

The other two games finishing all square, goals from Mason Bambridge and Harry Fisher helping Clifton Reserves to a 2-2 home draw with Dinamo Flitwick whose replies came via Domonic Loadman and Scott Hannam. Whilst Sandy Reserves with a goal from Johnnie Evans against a reply from Nicholas Ememe drew 1-1 at home against Kempston Athletic.

Alas for Shefford Town & Campton ‘A’ it was a game off notice after they failed to raise a side to host Marston Shelton Reserves.
