Beds League weekend preview

This weekend sees The Bedfordshire County Football League side under the management of Caldecote’s Neil Mapletoft face a visit from The Yorkshire Amateur League for an opening round tie in The FA Inter-League Cup. The game being staged at The Hollow, home of Potton United with a 3pm kick off. The consequence of which means there are no Premier Division supported by Sportsform fixtures taking place this weekend.

The top game of the day in division one takes still 100% for the season league leaders Goldington to Crawley Road to face third place Woburn Lions who will be looking to take their unbeaten ways up to five games. Whilst for second place Sandy, its a visit from Luton Boys Seniors who will hit the road to Bedford Road Recreation Ground now unbeaten in their last five starts.

Also hitting the road will be fourth place Elstow Abbey who head to Cople Playing Fields to be hosted by Bedford Sports Athletic who will be far from an easy nut to crack. But it will be welcome return to Stonefields for AFC Turvey where they defend their seasons 100% home ways against an Eastcotts AFC side that has lost its last two away outings and over in Stockwood Park, Sundon Park Rangers will be expecting to claim all three points to maintain their own 100% seasons home ways when called upon by a Henlow side that are yet to win on the road this season.

Also pleased to be on home turf will be Brickhill Tigers, who after two away defeats return to Mowsbury Park to host a Bromham United side who come in search of their first away point/points of the season. A comment that also applies to bottom of the table Caldecote Reserves when they journey to Ickleford Playing Fields to be hosted by Marabese Ceramics.

In Division Two, league leaders Queens Park Crescents will feel confident about collecting all three points to maintain their seasons 100% ways when in Mowsbury Park they host a AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves side who are yet to claim any points on the road this season. Whilst perhaps the game of the day comes at Oakley Playing Fields, the venue at which fourth place AFC Oakley Sports M&DH take on still unbeaten second place Potton Town.

Over at Whiston Crescent, Clifton will be playing hosts to a Great Barford side having their first away outing of the season and at Solway Road North, its local derby action between hosts Co-op Sports and the visiting AFC Harlington.

Other action coming at Renhold Playing Fields where hosts Renhold United Reserves look for their first point/points of the season against the still 100% on the road Cranfield United and at Gold Street, the venue at which Riseley Sports play hosts to a Kings AFC side looking for their first away point/points of the season.

With league leaders Meltis Albion sitting the afternoon out, the top game of the day in division three sees second place Stevington journey to Cutler Hammer to be hosted by fourth place Kempston Athletic. Whilst third place Wilstead Reserves look to maintain their 100% seasons away ways when they head for a 3G pitch outing at Hillgrounds against yet to win and bottom of the table AFC Bush.

Over at Greenfield Road, still unbeaten Westoning play hosts to a yet to win on the road Kempston Hammers Sports. Whilst at The Warren, Elstow Abbey Reserves will be looking to maintain their seasons 100% home ways when called upon by yet to win on the road Kempston Con Club Sports.

Other action coming on The Green where Ickwell & Old Warden Reserves search out their first home win of the season against a Clifton Reserves side whose away outings record to date reads played four, lost four. Whilst also looking for their first away point/points of the season will be Bedford Panthers when they hit the road for a Marston Playing Fields outing against hosts Marston Shelton Rovers Reserves.

In division four league leaders FC Houghton will look to defend their seasons unbeaten ways when they head for a King George VI Playing Fields outing against Clapham Sports. Whilst second place Wootton Village at their Wootton Playing Fields base will be playing hosts to yet to win on the road Moggerhanger United.

For third place Meltis Albion Reserves, the task of maintaining their 100% seasons away ways looks far from easy as they head for a Crawley Road outing against still 100% at home and fourth place Cranfield United Reserves. Whilst Shefford Town & Campton A look to take their own unbeaten ways up to four games when they head for a Harrowden Middle School outing against hosts Atletico Europa.

After two straight home defeats, Dinamo Flitwick at their Hinksley Recreation Ground headquarters will look to get back to winning ways when called upon by Mid Beds Tigers and just down the road at Redborne School, hosts Flitwick Town Reserves will be in search of their opening win of the season against a Sandy Reserves side who will hit the road looking for their first away point/points of the season.
