Bedford Ladies met Flitwick Ladies at Wootton Blue Cross Stadium and recorded a thumping 9-1 victory in the semi-finals of the County Cup.
Katie Hay started her first game in two months following health problems and was excellent for Bedford, while Sophie Britton took on a midfield role in which she thrived.
The Bedford Ladies scored good goals, kept the ball well and played with an excellent tempo.
Inspirational captain Tash Fensome led by example as she put the finishing touches to four lovely team goals, while Chelsea Hunter (2), Ella Meadowcroft (2) and Eden Washington also added their names to the scoresheet for the rampant Bedford side.
The Bedford midfield was excellent, and Becca Vass fitted in very well, while to their credit, the Flitwick Ladies put up a good fight, had great attitudes and didn’t give up.
Bedford Ladies, defending their title, will go on to face the winners of the other semi-final between Offley and Stopsley Womens FC and Luton Town LFC which was postponed at the weekend.
Bedford Ladies’ next match is a league fixture away at Crystal Palace Ladies, while the reserves are at home to the Crystal Palace reserve side.
The first team match will be held on Sunday afternoon at Wootton Blue Cross Stadium, Bedford Road, Wootton, with a kick-off time of 2pm.
