Arlesey Reserves retake top spot

Arlesey Town Reserves moved themselves back onto the summit of the Bedfordshire County League’s Premier Division with a 4-1 home victory over Dunton.

Liam Toomey netted a brace together with a single strike from Mark Ellis and a Ben Worbey penalty, the Dunton reply from Tom Burton.

In Division Two at The Hollow, Potton United Reserves ran out 3-1 home winners over M & DH Oakley to move into fifth place in the standings.

Amit Aghera opening the scoring after 33 minutes but that goal was cancelled out three minutes later by Adam Emms to take the sides in at the break all square.

Aghera put his side back in front on 64 minutes while Ben Talbot sealed the three points with the home sides third goal six minutes from time.

It was also a good night for Potton Town in Division Three as they won 2-1 away to Cranfield United Reserves to move into fourth slot in the standings and to trail the top three on goal difference. Tom Pyman scored both goals against a home reply from Dan Cockerton.

Elsewhere in the First Round of The Bedfordshire FA Junior Cup, Eastcotts ran out 9-1 home winners over Dunton ‘A’ to earn a trip to either Four Model Reserves or Potton United Reserves in Round Two.

Sean McFarland and Michael Sexton both netting hat-trick alongside strikes from Liam Parker, Courtney Broughton and Kaylan Wilson.
