AFC Oakley Sports M&DH the early leaders of Beds County Football League Premier Division

The 2013-14 Beds County Football League season got underway with a programme of just four games in the Premier Division supported by Sportsform, all ending without a home win in sight on Saturday.

Taking their place at the head of the league table after day one are AFC Oakley Sports M&DH who ran out 3-1 winners at Flitwick Town.

Mark Smith, Aaran Wright and Jack Hoograstraten netting the vital goals against a home reply from Richie Bevan.

Also winning on the road were AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College who emerged 2-1 victors at Wilstead.

Danny Pilgrim and Paul Obuch on the Town scoresheet with Colin Marshall netting for the hosts.

Elsewhere, the other two games finished all square. Renhold United with goals from Ollie Housden, Tom Foyle and Ben Brown having to share the points with visitors Lidlington United Sports, whose replies were delivered by a brace from Tom Marwood and Alex Burrows.

Wootton Blue Cross were held to a 1-1 home draw by newly promoted Pavenham, Neil Mangan netting for The Cross against a strike from James Owen.

Likewise in Division One it was a depleted programme of just five games and early pacesetters are newly promoted Bromham United who ran out 5-3 home winners over Caldecote Reserves thanks to braces of goals from Jahrome Mullings and Jahmel Mullings plus a single strike from Sam Jones. Caldecote hit back through Jordan Goodman twice and Dan Fennell.

There were also home wins for both Bedford Sports Athletic and Eastcotts AFC.

Athletic with a brace from Jon Woolfe plus a strike from Carmine Defoe seeing off Sundon Park Rangers 3-1, whose reply came from Kane Griffith.

Whilst Eastcotts AFC won by the same scoreline over Henlow. Kayleigh Wilson, Josh Gurrie and Kieran Alexander netting the goals against the lone reply from Jo Spence.

The lone winners on the road were Elstow Abbey, who won 2-0 at Luton Boys Seniors. Bruno Dos Santos shooting them ahead in the 55th minute and the scoreline doubled six minutes from time by Myles Ferraro.

Elsewhere for Sandy and Brickhill Tigers, it was the sharing of the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Liam Brophy and Greg Instrell marking the home scoresheet against two in reply from Joe Price for the Tigers.
