Cycling round-up

There were near perfect conditions for round three of Beds Road Club’s Sunday Morning time-trial series on Sunday.

The King of Hillfoot event comprised two timed ascents of almost a mile up the hill on the road from Cardington to Old Warden.

After the first ascent riders continued for a further 11 miles, looping around the course, before being timed for the second ascent.

Usually a time for the entire circuit is also taken, however this was not possible this time due to road works in Old Warden.

Simon Norman continued his dominance with a fine win, holding off youngster Isaac Anstee who pushed him very close.

Thomas Robb now heads the points listings with another consistent top three placing.

A record turnout saw 24 point scorers on the day, together with seven riders completing on a private basis, as a number of personal bests were set.
