'˜Curate's egg' win for the A's
A “curate’s egg” was how Ampthill’s director of rugby Mark Lavery described the game as Ampthill could have scored more than the brace of Aleki Lutui tries to lead 15-7 at the break.
After the restart Karim Lynch added two more, either side of a penalty try, and Loti Molitikacrashed over for the A’s seventh while the Lancashire side had three of their own for a bonus point.

Hide AdLavery said: “For large parts of the first-half we dominated, though it wasn’t really reflected in the score.
“There was some sloppiness in the second-half but at times we executed - not one of our best performances but we got the job done.
Meanwhile, A’s head coach Paul Turner added: “It was a bit disappointing to not go over at the end and get 50 points.
“But it was a good win. I thought the forwards were outstanding, as were the half-backs. It was good to come back with a win after a week’s break, so we’re pleased – now it’s on to a big one this weekend.”
Ampthill visit Coventry on Saturday, where the hosts will be hoping to reverse the 22-8 defeat to the A’s when they met at Dillingham Park in November.
