Cricket round-up: Sportivate funding award
Bedfordshire Cricket has been awarded funding from Sportivate – a Lottery-funded London 2012 legacy project that gives more young people the chance to discover a sport that they love.
The funding will be used to develop two Girls Into Cricket Programmes, for 11-13 and 14-19-year-olds, and to work with two groups in Bedford to provide cricket opportunities through Table Cricket.
The first Girls Into Cricket Programme for 14-19-year-olds will be launched in November with girls being invited to attend free sessions on three Sundays – November 17, and December 1 and 8, between 2.30-4.30pm at Bedford College and Denbigh High School in Luton.
The other two programmes will follow in the New Year.
