Blues make changes for start of Bristol trilogy

It's the final game of the regular season but the start of a trilogy as Bedford Blues prepare to face Bristol in the first of their three Greene King IPA Championship matches.

Having secured fourth place in the league, the Blues will now face Bristol twice in the play-off semi-final, but first of all they complete the regular season by hosting the league leaders in round 22.

Bedford make a host of changes to the team that was pipped at the post by Doncaster Knights last weekend with only George Perkins, Myles Dorrian, Mike Howard and Charlie Clare retaining their starting positions.

Bedford have also brought in Loughborough Students hooker Jacob Fields - who will be joining the Blues next season on a permanent deal - as an emergency signing after Sam James was ruled out of the remainder of the campaign with a shoulder injury.
