Bedfordshire trio look to defend England team world titles

Three Bedfordshire players begin the defence of the team titles they helped in England to win in 2012 at the World Eight-Ball Pool Championships at the Imperial Hotel in Blackpool on Monday.

All three will also be contesting individual sections too with the competition due to finish on Thursday.

Former Bedordshire Junior captain Tom church (Wilden) will be competing in the U21 team and singles event, while current 17-year-old Junior skipper Josh Riddaway (Greenfield) makes his bow in the World competition, where the Juniors are reigning champions, after making his international debut at the Europeans in February where he was the third highest ranked England player and seventh best in the whole tournament.

Callum flecknell (Luton), 14, continues his rapid progress by also competing.

The World Masters then start at the weekend where this Beds trio will be joined by Joel Riddaway, Beds youth manager Bobby Riddaway, Mark Price (Luton) and Kush Chandrashekar (Luton).
