Tom Church (Bedford) became a double world champion by helping to defend England’s U21 world team title.

The England team ran out 5-0 winners versus Australia to defend the title they won in 2012.

Church also had an excellent run in the men’s singles, eventually losing 8-6 to world U21 champion Michael Hope in a top quality match.

Current youth champion Josh Riddaway (Greenfield) and Callum Flecknell (Luton), meanwhile, became Junior world team champions.

England where unbeaten all tournament and avenged their loss to Ireland at the European Championships in February with a 13-9 win over their rivals, having beaten Australia 13-9 in the semi-finals.

The home internationals take place in September, while fellow youth international James Molloy (Dunstable), who did not qualify for the worlds, will be vying for a place at the Europeans in Malta in February 2014.
