The Beadlow Manor player retained her Beds Girls County Championship crown to make it a hat- trick of titles at the recent championships held at South Beds.

Pitts (hcp 4) coped well with the favourite tag and returned a six over par 78 to edge her playing partner Georgia Staroscik (Leighton Buzzard) by just the one shot and add the Girls title to the Ladies crown she won in May.

She goes on to Woodhall Spa to play in the Women’s and Girls County Champions weekend in September.

Pitts was also in action for Beadlow Manor in their defence of the Tavistock Trophy.

She returned another six over par round of 80 with Andrew Round (hcp 15) contributing the second gross score of 89, and Govind Sandhu (hcp 18) a nett 80.

The outstanding performance came from Holly Lake (hcp 38) who was playing off the maximum 36 handicap on the day and in her first ever inter-club competition. The 13-year-old showed no sign of nerves and played some fine golf in returning a nett 70.

The match saw the home team lose narrowly to Mowsbury but the win over The Millbrook and a vastly superior shot aggregate sees Beadlow through to the Tavistock Final in August for the fifth year in a row.

Beadlow also travelled to Redbourn for a Ver League match and excellent performances from Luke Charalambous (hcp 4), Luke Baynham (hcp 5), Jamie Gibbons (hcp 6) and Sean Foster (hcp 13) saw the team secure a 4-3 win to take the two leg tie 8.5 to 5.5, and progress to the semi-final of the plate competition.

The Beadlow Blue team of Gibbons, Pitts, James Manning (hcp 9) and Lee Houghton (hcp 16) progressed to round three of the RBL National matchplay beating Hinckley by four holes. Beadlow juniors secured their second Vale League victory, 4-2 over Aspley Guise, with wins for Charalambous, Baynham, Foster and Will Murray (hcp 10).
