The 28-year-old from Flitwick will take on the 1k open water swim and 5k run.

Speaking about the event, Large, who competed in last year’s National Aquathlon Championships finishing 64th overall, said: “I have only been competing in Aquathlons for one year.

“I have run since I was 11-years-old though and have always been a very keen swimmer.

“I am very proud to be representing Great Britain at the European Championships. It gives me a great buzz.

“I’d like to finish in the top 10 andjust have to believe that my training will help me.”

Large is also hopeful of gaining some more sponsorship to help with her aims of taking part in future events as well.

She added: “I am self funded, being sponsored by a few local companies, Inn out services, KD Hawes, Tri-crazy retail and Custom print.

“I am always looking for any sponsorship to help fund an expensive sport.”
