Lidl to give free stuff to shoppers at new stores across the UK

German supermarket giant Lidl is known for its bargains - and now shoppers could be picking up freebies every week after the no-frills grocery chain revealed plans to expand their stores across the UK.

In the last week alone, 39 new Lidl stores have opened up across the country - and you could be quids in if you live near one of them.

That's because every time a new Lidl branch opens its doors, shoppers can pick up a card that gives them access to a freebie every week for six weeks, when spending £20 or more.

Alternatively, customers can pop into the store once it's opened to pick up their Lidl ‘Welcome Card’.

Freebies change each week - but it's mostly everyday household products such as washing powder, kitchen towel and toilet roll. Food staples include tea and coffee.

The budget supermarket’s website states: “Pop into your new look local store over the next six weeks, pick up your Lidl Welcome Card, and you'll get a free product every week when you spend £20 or more.

“There's a different offer every week, so you'll get a new free item with each weekly shop”.

Lidl have been running the scheme for around a year now, but not many people know about it.
