Booster seat recalled due to injury fears - and suffocation danger from packaging

A child's booster seat has been recalled because of two dangerous issues being flagged up.

The Venture Three Stage Mini Booster Seat has been pulled from shelves due to an "inadequate" locking mechanism, restraining and chair attachment system.

This could see a child falling off the seat and suffering injuries.

However, the plastic packaging of the product has also been found to be too large and too thin without being perforated.

This means that If a child plays with the packaging, the plastic could cover the mouth and nose, causing the child to suffocate.

The Chinese-made seat, with batch number / barcode 50700461909323, is intended for children between six and 36 months with a maximum weight of 15kg, and is designed to be fitted to a chair.

It comes packaged in a cardboard box, but crucially, along with the offending plastic packaging.
