A woman was injured during a break-in at her house in Cotton End during the afternoon on Friday, January 30.

Two people entered the house on High Road through the front door at about 4pm. One of the people then restrained the woman, causing minor injuries, while the other stole several items.

A silver Armani watch, a Hindu statue (pictured), and some gold bangles were taken.

Officers are seeking witnesses and would like to speak to two people in connection with the incident. Both are described as white men in their late teens. One is described as being 5’7, stocky, with a dark coat and a red woolly hat.

The second is described as average build with a light coat and a woolly hat.

DC Whitworth said: “This was a nasty incident in which an elderly woman was threatened in her own home. We’re urging anyone who knows anything to get in touch and help us find those responsible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Whitworth on 101, text 07786 200011, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
