Police are appealing for witnesses after burglars attempted to gain entry to a property on West Hill, Aspley Guise, on Tuesday, (Junne 9).

At around 9.20am a blue saloon car with a large rear spoiler pulled up to the front of the house and a man knocked loudly on the front door before driving off. Around five minutes later the same offenders banged on the back door of the house before attempting to gain entry with bolt croppers.

The offenders, who were aged 30 to 40 years old and wearing dark blue overalls, made off over the garden fence when the victim, who was in the house, approached the back door.

PC Brendan Street said: “We would like to speak to anyone with information that could assist us in our investigation, particularly who saw a blue saloon car in the area in suspicious circumstances on Tuesday morning. It is possible that the car had foreign registration plates.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Brendan on 101, text 07786 200 011, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
