Binmen were forced to abandon rubbish collections in parts of Clapham, Oakley and Bedford due to the high temperatures today (Tuesday).
A statement from Bedford Borough Council said: “We apologise for the delay and ask that if your bins were missed today, you leave them out this evening and our team will revisit tomorrow to complete the collection.”
Temperatures are already 39C (103F) in the town.
