A sensational show coming to Bedford will whisk you away to the fairytale world of New Year’s Day in Vienna.
Packed full of traditional classics by the Strauss family and their contemporaries, New Year in Vienna is guaranteed to give your celebrations the feel-good factor.
Showcasing the best of popular Viennese music including the Blue Danube and Emperor Waltz, Edelweiss, Skaters Waltz and many more, the audience will experience the Austrian love affair with the waltz, alluring polkas and uplifting marches.
Add to this tender and passionate songs plus pyrotechnic effects, you have a recipe for an unforgettable event and cherished memories to last the whole year through.
The show is in its 11th year here in Bedford and comes to the Corn Exchange on Saturday, January 4 at 7.30pm.
A spokesman for the London Gala Orchestra said: “We try to make our shows different from other similar concerts elsewhere which is why we have candles, pyrotechnics, a champagne lottery and a bagpiper for Auld Lang Syne.
“We are celebrating the waltz in all its different forms, performing waltzes from the West End, the ballet, popular dance as well as the well loved Viennese Waltzes. Soprano Helen Massey will joined by tenor Andrew Wicks who will also be the master of ceremonies.
The show is directed by Steve Ellery, a conductor the orchestra has spent much time working with. He spends most of his time in Poland and Germany where there is a long tradition of New Year concerts.
