The Wacky Wheels event, organised by The Kiosk, in Russell Park, saw decorated bikes, scooters, buggies, balance bikes and even a tandem.

The Kiosk’s Emma Garrett said: “It was fabulous. The crocodile tandem was amazing. There was a mum, dad, daughter and baby riding on it!

“We also had some amazing superheroes and plenty of flower power.”

She added: “Whole families got involved and grandparents came to watch.

“It also encouraged people who had new bikes for Christmas to get out and about.”

The event was organised with cycling charity Sustrans to promote cycling routes around Bedford.

The Sustrans team arrived with their juicing bike, which people could pedal to make their own smoothies with fruit donated by AB Fruits.

Prizes, donated by Bedford businesses Rogans Books, Flamme Rouge Cycles and Transition Cycles, were awarded for best balance bike, scooter and bike, at the event on Saturday, January 30.
