A team of hairdressers are organising a charity ball to raise funds for a teenager fighting brain cancer and the charity which has helped him.
Corinne Clements and staff from Studio Zen Hairdressers, in Chiltern Avenue, Bedford, have joined together with her friend Susan Coles to organise the Jack Coles Charity Venetian Masquerade Ball on Saturday, April 16 at the Radisson Park Inn, Bedford.
The aim is to raise funds for Susan’s 16-year-old nephew Jack who is fighting brain cancer and also supporting the children’s Brain Tumour Charity.
Ant Anstead, from Channel 4’s For The Love of Cars and recently co presenter of the BBC2’s series the Chinese New Year, will be attending the ball and running an auction.
Susan said: “This is the forgotten charity that cannot compete with the big cancer charities. It is the biggest cancer killer in children and adults under 40 but they get less than 2% of the government research funding and are totally reliant on voluntary donations.
“That is why, after speaking to Corinne, she agreed to help me organise the charity ball along with Sue Glen who works in the hairdressers.”
Early bird tickets purchased by March 31 are £48, and £55 after that, or £500 for a table of 10. This inlcudes a three-course meal. Black tie, ball gowns and masks to be worn. A prize draw will be held during the evening.
Welcome drinks are supplied by Kay and Amar Ajula. Contact Susan at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07918 180536 or Studiozen@hotmail.co.uk or call 01234 350422.
