A young woman was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after a multi-car collision in Woburn.
The incident took place in Leighton Street, Woburn, yesterday (June 2) at around 6.15pm.
It is believed three cars were involved in the smash, including a red Ford Fiesta and a black Land Rover.
An East of England Ambulance spokesman said: “We were called at 6.21pm to Leighton Street, Woburn, to reports of a three-vehicle collision. One of the cars was overturned.
“We had two patients, one with suspected fracture to the pelvis and a head injury who was airlifted to Addenbrookes Hospital in a serious condition.
“Another patient was assessed by crews and was fully conscious, appeared to have escaped without serious injury. That person was taken to Bedford Hospital.”
It is believed both patients were from the same car.
A Beds Police spokesman said: “At approximately 6.15pm a Ford Fiesta and a Range Rover Discovery Sport collided on the Leighton Road.
“One woman suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital where she is now in a stable condition.
“Officers from the Roads Policing Unit (RPU) are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, and are particularly appealing for the driver of a black Audi, that was seen on the same road at the time of the incident, to come forward.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact PC 150 Baker on 101.”
