Uni reports leap in applications

APPLICATIONS for the University of Bedfordshire before Christmas were well up on last year.

The university said 9,674 candidates had applied by mid-December, a leap of 1,879 on the same time last year.

Susie King, the University of Bedfordshire head of UK/EU admissions, said: “We have seen a much greater increase in applications than that seen by UCAS with nursing, social work, social studies, maths and computing proving very popular.” Candidates have until Saturday to apply.
