Two more arrested over Bedford shootings

Nine people have now been arrested following the shootings that took place in Bedford last weekend.

Two more men, a 21-year-old and a 27-year-old, both from Bedford, were arrested yesterday (Wednesday, July 13) on suspicion of firearms offences.

They have been bailed pending further investigation.

The arrests are a result of a large scale investigation that Bedfordshire Police has been conducting in relation to shots that were fired at four separate addresses overnight on Friday, July 8.

The first shots were fired at around 10pm on Friday night in Faraday Square. One woman was taken to hospital with arm injuries.

Further incidents were reported over the next six hours, with shots being fired at 1am in Lovell Road, 1.20am in Foxglove Way, and 5am in Romsey Way. A 19-year-old woman was arrested.

Three men, a 19-year-old, a 21-year-old and a 22-year-old were arrested on Sunday, and a 19-year-old man followed on Monday.

Further arrests saw an 18-year-old man being taken into custody on Tuesday, and then men aged 19, 21 and 27 on Wednesday.

All were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and are from Bedford. They have been bailed until dates in August.
