Two injured in garage collision

Two people were hurt when the car they were in drove into a garage after being switched on while in gear.

A young man suffered facial injuries and a woman suffered a broken leg in the incident at Trinity Road, Stotfold on Friday.

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 5.21pm involving one car that had driven into a garage.

Firefighters from Shefford and Kempston Community Fire Stations together with the Kempston Special Rescue Unit were sent to the incident. When they arrived they found that a car, left in gear had jumped forward when the ignition had been switched on and driven into a garage.Firefighters assisted medical professionals at the scene until arrival of an ambulance and cordoned off the damaged structure. A structural engineer attended to assess damage to the building. incident
