Family man Gee, a passionate golfer and pharmacist by profession, made annual tours to clubs around the country to enjoy his game.

He suffered a heart attack aged just 52 in June 2010 and since then his brother Kiran and the local pharma club to which he belonged have organised a fundraising golf tournament and dinner in his honour.

This year’s place at Beadlow Manor and as well as Geoff Swain, guests will be entertained by former ITV and Sky sports journalist and broadcaster Graham Miller who will give an after dinner speech.

Proceeds from the event go to the British Heart Foundation and to date the event has raised more than £8,000.

Kiran said: “This event means so much to our family. Gee would have loved to see everyone get together in this way to share in his passion and raise money for such a good cause.

“This event is for everyone regardless of whether you are a golfer or not. The course at Beadlow is a challenge and having Graham and Geoff with us on the day is the icing on the cake.”

The day begins with a competition on Beadlow’s Baron course, followed by a buffet of authentic Indian cuisine. Tickets are £50 for golf and dinner and £25 for dinner only.
