Woman freed from car following collision with HGV in Thurleigh

A man was taken to hospital and a woman treated by paramedics following a crash yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).
As we previously revealed, police had told drivers to find another route following the crash in Mill Road.
Fire crews from Sandy were on the scene just after 3.40pm, only to discover a HGV had overturned, shedding its load on to the carriageway.
One adult male had already freed himself from the HGV and was taken to Bedford Hospital.
Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to free a woman from the car. She was then taken into the care of the ambulance service.
The road was closed between the junction of Milton Road and Robins Folly.
