Rail firm ends cash charges

RAIL firm First Capital Connect (FCC) is to abolish charges for using cash machines at its stations.

All cash machines at FCC stations - which include Bedford, Flitwick and both Luton stations - currently charge a fee for withdrawals, of around £1.80.

But the contract to supply the machines has now come to an end, and a new supplier will provide facilities that are free.

The conversion process will last between early February and mid-March.

The machines will be unavailable for a short period while the machines are changed.
