Gritters to hit Bedford as temperatures plummet

It's going to be below zero tonight

As the temperatures struggle today, Bedford Borough Council will be gritting the roads.

In a statement on Twitter, the council said: "Through the day and overnight, snow flurries will drift in from the east. Snow showers could turn quite heavy in places.

"Road surface temperatures will struggle to recover today and will be below zero through the night."
