As temperatures plummet, Bedford Borough Council has announced it will grit the roads this afternoon.
In a tweet, the council said: "Very cold this evening with Hoar frost. Gritting run planned for 4pm."
Central Bedfordshire Council also confirmed it be out gritting from 3pm.
